Megan Racing Press Release – New Race Spec Strut Tower Brace for 2015+ Subaru WRX!

November 4th, 2014 by Ernest Lo

Megan Racing One-Piece Race Spec Strut Tower Bar is constructed of strong Aluminum to extremely tight tolerances and then polished to perfection. Designed for the 2015 Subaru WRX to decrease body roll, this bar ties the chassis from left to right at critical stress points (Between the shock/strut towers).

As you drive and maneuver, your car undergoes many different forces that the chassis of the car absorbs; the brace helps to absorb the energy and directs these forces into your suspension components so that they can better do their job and serve their purpose more effectively.

A must for any track-driven, and a great addition to any street or show car, this bar truly lives up to the Megan Racing name.

PERRIN Press Release – New Master Cylinder Brace for 2015 WRX/STI!

October 31st, 2014 by Ernest Lo

The PERRIN Master Cylinder Brace significantly reduces flex at the firewall of your 2015 Subaru WRX/STI, so you get solid brake pedal feel with every application of the brakes. This is very noticeable while under heavy braking and even slowing for a stop sign. The difference can immediately be felt after installation.

PERRIN Press Release – New Shifter Stop for 2015 WRX!

October 21st, 2014 by Ernest Lo

Due to the slop of the internals in the transmission, there is an unacceptable amount of horizontal slop within the 1st- and 2nd- gear shift gates on the 2015 Subaru WRX. What should be little to no movement ends up being nearly 1.0 inch of play. This makes for an unnatural placement of shift gates and a lost feeling of which gear you are in. The PERRIN Shifter Stop removes this play, reducing the horizontal movement to 0.12 inches. This makes for a solid connection between the driver and transmission.

PERRIN Press Release – New Cat-Back Exhaust Non-Resonated for 2011-2015 WRX/STI!

October 10th, 2014 by Ernest Lo

The 2015 WRX exhaust is extremely quiet in stock form, so we had to create a louder exhaust. We filled this gap with our PERRIN non-resonated cat-back exhaust. It is mellow, yet aggressive on the 2015 WRX, but much louder on the 2011-2014 WRX and 2011-2015 STI.

APR Performance Press Release – New 2011-14 Subaru WRX / STI Brake Cooling Ducts!

September 24th, 2014 by Ernest Lo

The APR Brake Cooling Ducts for 2011-14 Subaru Impreza WRX/STI are aerodynamically-optimized to “funnel in” massive amounts of air. Also known as the venturi effect, when the vehicle speed increases, this funneled-in air increases in both pressure and velocity as it passes from the larger frontal area into the smaller pipe section of the brake duct. When matched with appropriate high-temperature air duct hoses (not included – purchase hoses from your favorite racing-supply shop), the APR Brake Cooling Ducts will help to channel in large volumes of fresh air to help cool down red-hot brake rotors lap after lap on the track.

AEM Press Release – Huge Power Increase for 2015 Subaru WRX STi 2.5L H4 Turbo with AEM Cold Air Intake!

September 24th, 2014 by Ernest Lo

Subaru has given its flagship model, the WRX STi, a near complete redesign for the 2015 model year. The 2015 Subaru WRX STi, can’t be called all new because one thing hasn’t changed, namely the EJ257 intercooled and turbocharged 2.5L H4 boxer engine. Some critics are disappointed that the base model WRX would receive the cutting edge 2.0L FA20DIT engine, while the 2015 WRX STi would carry over the same engine from the 2014 model year.

For those critics Masuo Takatsu, program manager for both the base WRX and upgraded WRX STi, had this to say “I felt the STI’s weaker area was the handling side. If we didn’t have the chassis, why add more power to overwhelm it? Also, this EJ engine has proved itself in competition. It’s an engine we confidently bring to the track. The new FA-series in the WRX has not been proven in motorsports. Plus, we knew the aftermarket could supply more power to those STi owners who demanded it.”

Advanced Engine Management (AEM) has done exactly what Masuo Takatsu predicted would be accomplished in the aftermarket with the AEM cold air intake system for the 2015 Subaru WRX STi. AEM has a solid reputation for making Subaru WRX intake systems as the AEM cold air intake for the previous generation Subaru WRX STi made impressive power gains. AEM intakes has once again stepped up to the plate with cold air intake (CAI), number 21-735WR, and produced an amazing estimated 32 horsepower maximum increase at the wheels of an otherwise stock 2015 Subaru WRX STi. Dyno testing on the 21-735WR cold air intake was performed to back our substantial claims of increased horsepower. AEM dyno tests prove that CAI, number 21-735WR, produced an estimated maximum gain of 32 horsepower @ 5400 RPM and an estimated increased in torque of 31 ft-lbs @ 5400 RPM.

The AEM cold air intake for the 2015 Subaru WRX STi positions the AEM Dryflow Air Filter in a location near the front of the car to help pull fresh air from outside the engine compartment. Bringing in cooler outside air can result in more power. The AEM synthetic Dryflow air filter is designed for low restriction without compromising engine protection. The 21-735WR 2015 Subaru WRX STi cold air intake Dryflow filter is washable and reusable. An AEM dry filter uses a synthetic filter media and does not require oil allowing for quick, easy cleaning. An application specific powdercoated aluminum heat shield is included in the AEM CAI for the 2015 STi to help prevent engine heat from increasing the inlet air temperature. “Excellent air inlet temperature management ensures consistent and reliable power,” says product engineer John Concialdi.

A mandrel bent aluminum air intake tube is utilized to direct cool intake air smoothly from the AEM Dryflow filter and into the turbocharger. This aluminum intake tube is protected by a wrinkle-red powdercoat finish to ensure the AEM cold air intake will look just as good as it performs. The wrinkle-red powercoat finish was chosen in order to match original equipment parts visible under the hood of 2015 Subaru WRX STi models. The entire AEM cold air intake, as well as the AEM Dryflow air filter is backed by the AEM limited lifetime warranty.

The 21-735WR cold air intake system is a perfect upgrade for any 2015 Subaru WRX STi enthusiast looking to add more power and better performance to their Mustang or Camaro beating import car.

Megan Racing Press Release – New Track-Series Coil-over Damper Kit for 2008-14 Subaru Impreza WRX!

August 29th, 2014 by Ernest Lo

For those who demand the absolute most in handling and performance from their 2008-14 Subaru Impreza WRX, Megan Racing has developed a new series of fully adjustable Coil-Over Damper kits for limited applications. The new Track-Series Coil-over Damper Kit surely stands out above the rest with the dependability and performance that Megan Racing suspension products are known for. With a gunmetal finish for the brackets and coated springs for durability, it is apparent that the Megan Racing Track-Series dampers mean business. However, beyond their aggressive appearance stands the true essence of these Dampers. The increased spring rates, mated with more aggressively valved dampers, stiffer shock setting, and heavy-duty piston construction add up to a suspension system that out-performs most competing suspensions that retail for almost twice the price.

Set as an option for those who demand a more aggressive suspension setup compared to our Street-Series Damper Kits, the Track-Series Damper Kits provide higher spring rates to accommodate for smoother circuit and road course conditions with matching damper capabilities to handle the heavier spring rates. The ease of use and adjustability remains the same to that of our Street-Series Damper Kits where ride height, camber adjustment (for strut-type applications) and separate spring perch are present features to allow the full customization of suspension tuning while retaining full shock stroke, and allowing the tuner to set corner balance of the vehicle to optimize the handling characteristics of the vehicle.

GFB Press Release – New Respons TMS Valve For 2015 Subaru WRX!

August 22nd, 2014 by Ernest Lo

GFB Respons TMS valve (part number T9007) features both the GFB patented adjustable bias venting system, and the GFB TMS advantage.

The TMS range from GFB is designed specifically for the purpose of turbo lag reduction and improving throttle response. Tests show TMS features can help return the engine to peak boost up to 30% faster than a factory diverter valve when shifting gears.

Want sound? Admit it, you do – otherwise you wouldn’t be looking at this product! Even if you only want to hear it a little bit, only some of the time, or hide it from your better half, GFB’s unique patented venting bias adjustment system has you covered – it allows the amount of air vented to atmosphere or recirc to be infinitely varied to change the sound from silent to ear-shattering or anywhere in between, with a simple flick of the wrist!

  • Unique adjustment to easily change distribution of vented air between recirculating and atmosphere ports.
  • Great for cars with sensitive air flow meters as it can be tuned to vent just enough air back to the inlet to prevent backfiring, whilst achieving a blow-off sound.
  • Direct bolt-on fitment NO extra parts, adaptors, or modifications to the car required just take the factory valve off, and put the GFB Respons TMS in its place!
  • Excellent value!

These unique products manufactured in Australia to ISO 9001 can deliver performance with as much or as little noise as you like; with the GFB Respons TMS you CAN achieve a blow-off sound without throwing a CEL, running rich, stalling, using more fuel or causing any other problems commonly associated with atmosphere-venting valves on cars with MAF sensors.
