The all new Mazda 6 and Mazda 3 models are equipped with advanced technology straight from the factory. The new Skyactiv engines, like the 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine that comes standard in the 2014 Mazda 6, and is optional in the 2014 Mazda 3 is designed with fuel efficiency, performance, and lower emissions in mind. Skyactiv technology is also incorporated into the transmission, body, and chassis components to help increase efficiency without sacrificing performance.
The 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine is rated at 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque from the factory, but reducing air intake restriction can help this advanced engine perform even better. Owners seeking some extra boost in the power department can now install the 69-6032TS short ram intake system. By replacing the maze of air ducting, stock air filter box, and disposable car air filters, K&N intake systems are able to reduce restriction and increase power.
69-6032TS from K&N is precision-engineered to be a simple-to-install performance add-on. The backbone of this intake system is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube which helps to minimize restriction, allowing your engine to breathe easier. A venturi is incorporated into the tube to straighten airflow resulting in improved drivability and power gains. A durable silver color powder coated finish is applied to the tube, providing an attractive appearance under the hood that will look great for years to come.
K&N equips the 69-6032TS with the oversized RU-4990 reusable air filter, providing a large surface to help increase airflow while providing outstanding engine protection. The washable air filter is made with K&N’s famous high-flow filter media so it’s washable and reusable and can even go up to 100,000 miles between cleanings, depending on driving conditions. To top it all off, a heat shield shrouds the air filter under the hood, helping to deflect engine heat away from incoming air.
All of the design features of the 69-6032TS performance air intake system work in harmony to deliver increased performance. On the dyno, 69-6032TS produced an estimated additional 5.7 horsepower at 4844 rpm and an impressive 7.72 pound-feet of torque at 3262rpm over the factory air filter box system when installed on a 2014 Mazda 6 2.5L.
The 69-6032TS performance air intake system is an excellent upgrade for 2014 Mazda 6 or Mazda 3 models with the 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine. With simple to follow instructions and no need to make any other modifications to the vehicle, you’ll be on the road in approximately 90 minutes with more horsepower under your right foot.
If all that weren’t enough, K&N backs the 69-6032TS with the industry-leading K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty. If you’re looking to take your 2014 Mazda 6 or Mazda 3 models with the 2.5L Skyactiv-G engine to the next level, look no further than the 69-6032TS Typhoon short ram intake system.

Since its introduction in 2004, the Mazda 3 has been a sporty and stylish choice for economically-minded drivers around the world. Available as both a sedan and a hatchback, the Mazda 3 offers a vehicle recognized for its design, performance and handling. The drivability and functional styling of the Mazda 3 have also made it a popular choice for motor enthusiasts, tuners and customizers. AEM is one manufacturer that has developed quality aftermarket performance intake systems for both the 1st and 2nd generations of the Mazda 3. Boasting superior performance, a washable and reusable air filter, and a lifetime limited warranty, AEM induction systems offer a perfect upgrade to improve long lasting performance for your Mazda 3.
Manufactured in the USA since their beginnings in 1987, AEM performance short ram and cold air intake systems are engineered to add horsepower and reduce restriction compared to OEM air intakes. AEM pioneered the cold air induction system for sport compact models in 1994 and has continued that tradition of improving vehicle performance, including that of the Mazda 3 ever since.
AEM has designed a high performance intake system for both engine sizes of the 1st generation Mazda 3. From 2004 to 2008 both the 2.0L and the 2.3L can benefit from the AEM 21-488C intake system. This air intake system is available in 4 different colors shown as the:
For 2010 and 2011 2nd generation Mazda 3 models with manual transmission, AEM has released cold air intake parts 21-695C (Charcoal Grey) and 21-695P (Polished Silver finish). The 21-695C intake has been dyno tested showing an estimated 6.7HP gain at 6100 rpm.
AEM intake systems are designed to be complete bolt on upgrades for specific vehicle models and include a durable and easy to clean Dryflow air filter. AEM’s air filters do not use oil and are designed to increase horsepower and torque for vehicles like the Mazda 3. AEM Dryflow air filters used on AEM air intakes can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary depending on driving conditions. AEM air filters are designed to protect your engine from harmful dirt and particles while providing excellent filtration.

The new generation Mazda 3 looks to be just as fun as past 5Doors’ from Mazda, building on the success of the previous generations of the 3 and the Protege5. No word on US engines, but we can keep our fingers crossed for a Mazdaspeed version possibly sporting the 2.3L Turbo from past models.
