K&N Press Release – Dependable Air Filter For Dependable GM Trucks!

April 9th, 2012 by Ernest Lo

The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks have been a pillar of American culture since their inception in 1975. Compared to the first truck GMC ever made in 1930, the Sierra and Silverado series are fairly modern. Sierra and Silverado pickup trucks have become household names for work and pleasure in a very short time frame and owners all over America have been enjoying these trucks for their power and comfort. In 2011 these trucks underwent some substantial changes. Although the trucks look similar to earlier models they came with an improved 6.6 liter Duramax diesel engine. This engine packs a huge gain in torque and some gains in horsepower, as well as some improvements in chassis and suspension components. The stiffer ride helps with steering response, handling on rough roads, and the vehicle’s turning radius.

K&N has released part 33-2466, a replacement air filter, for 2011 and 2012 Silverado and Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD models with 6.6 liter diesel engines. The 33-2466 is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration by replacing the restrictive OE paper filter with a high-flow, washable and reusable K&N oiled cotton gauze air filter. The 33-2466 filter also provides outstanding filtration efficiency and dirt capacity so it can go up to 50,000 miles between servicing depending on driving conditions. When cleaning is required, it can easily be completed by following simple cleaning instructions with K&N’s 99-5000 or 99-5050 Recharger Kits. K&N OE replacement air filter 33-2466 is easy to install and backed by K&N’s Million Mile Limited Warranty, so it will be the last air filter you will ever have to purchase.
