Introducing the new aFe Power MACH Force XP exhaust system for the 07-13 R56, R57 and R58 MINI Cooper S. In recent testing, this system produced 16 horsepower and 32 lbs. x ft. of torque. This exhaust system is constructed from 2.5″ brushed finish, mandrel bent, 304 stainless steel and is TIG-welded. This system uses a high flow, brushed, 304 stainless steel, single in dual out muffler which improves performance across the power band while maintaining a great tone. To finish off this system are dual aFe laser etched, 3.5″ polished 304 stainless steel tips. This exhaust uses all factory hanger locations.  Note: Cutting is required and should be performed by a skilled technician.

Kia and Hyundai have done it again. The 2011, 2012 and 2013 Optima and Sonata have created such a buzz in the car world that they are flying off the shelves. Sharing the same power-plant, the Kia and Optima boast a powerful 2.0 liter motor force fed by a twin scroll turbocharger cranking out an impressive 274 horsepower. This is Subaru WRX territory. Both 2013 models were named by the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) as top safety picks for the 2012 year. The rise to global recognition results in more aftermarket options for the Sonata and Optima. This is where K&N comes into the picture. A globally recognized company as well, K&N wasn’t satisfied with a measly 274 horsepower from these mid-sized sports sedans.

In comes the 69-5309TS air intake system for 2011, 2012 and 2013 Kia Optima and Hyundai Sonata models with the 2.0 liter turbo charged motor. Replacing the restrictive stock air intake system with this free flowing, mandrel bent, aluminum intake system, Optima and Sonata owners can see an estimated 7.6 horsepower increase to the wheels at 4,861 RPM. More horsepower and more torque gives the discerning owner more to play with on the highway. Air intake 69-5309TS provides fittings for the existing blow off valve, EVAP and vent hoses. It comes with a heat shield to block hot engine air and pull in cooler outside air. All APR Performance GT Series wings feature an all-new, low-drag, aerodynamic 2D designed airfoil shape. The “2D” design allows the wing to maintain a consistent level of downforce across its entire span. Each GT Series airfoil is composed of lightweight and durable carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite materials. These airfoils contain pre-pregnated woven carbon fiber sheets for superior strength and low weight. All CFRP airfoils are made using pre-pregnated composite manufacturing processes (i.e. high-temperature autoclave and vacuum bagging) in high-quality aluminum billet molds.

Supporting the airfoils are 10mm “aircraft grade” 6061 billet aluminum pedestals that come in a flat black powder coat finish.

Gurney Flaps
Gurney flaps are included and pre-installed with every GT-250 wing. These are super lightweight, made using pre-pregnated carbon fiber processes.

The Gurney flap (a.k.a. wickerbill) is an aerodynamic device that was originally pioneered and developed in the 1970s by a racing driver named Dan Gurney. Unbeknownst to his competition, this device was used to increase downforce while minimizing increase in drag. He found that not only did this device increase the lift/drag (L/D) ratios, it also increased the stalling angles (so he could operate the airfoils at greater pitch angles). It took a few years for everyone else to catch on to its purpose, and now, the Gurney flap (or similar device) can be seen in race cars and even airplanes all over the world.
