Since playing old school NES on you iPhone has become passé it’s time to start using your iPhone the way it was intended - as a Dyno.

Using the iPhones built in accelerometer, the guys at Dynolicious have developed an application that will allow you to measure your vehicles performance without all the fuss of strapping your car to rollers. Dynolicious measures the following, and reports including some very cool graphs:
- 0-60 MPH
- Other Speed Tests (0-10 MPH through 0-100 MPH in 10MPH increments)
- Quarter Mile Elapsed Time
- Quarter Mile Trap Speed
- Elapsed Time and Trap Speed for standard intervals (60′, 330′, 1/8 Mi, 1000′)
- Lateral G’s (current and peak)
- Braking G’s (current and peak)
- Wheel Horsepower
- Estimated Engine Horsepower
You can also store runs, max speeds, peak horspower and more. The ap is currently availble in the iTunes Store for $12.99 and more information is available on the Dynolicious Web Site.

AEM has introduced a Cold Air Intake for the 2007-08 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6. To gain power from the Altima engine, AEM designed a wrap-around airbox where the 3×5-inch synthetic DRYFLOW performance air filter resides. A custom injection molded air scoop also brings cool air from the front of the vehicle into the airbox directly to the air filter through an inlet pipe.

AEM has just introduced a Cold Air Intake for the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI 2.5L Turbo. This special edition intake system features a wrinkle red powdercoat finish specifically chosen for the Subaru models. The CAI uses a very clean designed heatshield that blocks hot air from the huge 9-inch DRYFLOW air filter. A CNC’d MAF adapter along with a built-in air straightener keep CELs away and fuel trims perfectly in line. This CAI generates amazing HP and Torque gains across the powerband on both the WRX and STI models.

AEM has just released a Cold Air Intake for the all-new ‘08 Mitsubishi EVO X. To gain power from the 4B11 MIVEC, AEM designed a fully enclosed airbox to house a 3×5″ DRYFLOW performance filter & utilize the factory air duct to draw the coolest air possible. The cross-linked polyethylene airbox leads into an aluminum CNC-machined MAF adapter which feeds the turbo by way of a high-flow turbo inlet constructed of ultra-strong EPDM rubber.

Just a quick heads up to everyone, the new AEM price increase went live July 1st 2008. Below is the letter from AEM regarding this price increase.

To all AEM Customers;
As you are no doubt aware, the market for raw materials has been inflationary for the past couple of years. For the past 1 ½ years we have been absorbing these increases. In addition, we have done everything possible during that time to improve our manufacturing and operations efficiency to lessen the impact of the higher material costs. However, we are now in a position where we have to pass a portion of these increases along.
Attached please find our new Jobber Price List # 01-3021. While price changes vary by part number, there is an overall weighted increase of approximately 2.8% across the entire AEM product line. Please note that these new prices will go into effect on 7/1/08 and will apply to any order not received before that date.
We thank you for your understanding and urge you to call with any comments or questions. As always, we truly appreciate and thank you for your support.
AEM Sales Team
As always, please remember AEM does have a MAP program and RPMWare makes it easy to abide by it - just select ‘MAP’ for the Pricing Field from the Items-Pricing section of your Admin area.

If you haven’t heard, the BBC (and YouTube) sensation Top Gear is making its way to American televisions this fall thanks to the folks at NBC. Although we won’t be treated to the likes of Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear USA will be hosted by the trio of: Adam Carolla of The Man Show fame, some guy named Eric Stromer, and, of course, Drifter extraordinaire Tanner Foust.

Autofiends.com recently sat down with Tanner Foust for some one-on-one and to try and get an idea of how the stateside counterpart to the British show will pan out. Click through to read the entire Tanner Foust Interview.
Additionally, FinalGear.com reports that the corporate iron grip which dominates much of our media won’t flex it’s steely muscle over the show. During Adam Carolla’s radio show a week back, a caller wanted some updates on Top Gear. Throughout the conversation Adam revealed that NBC won’t censor the show if the hosts are critical of a vehicle whose parent company may be paying for ad space. For the entire story, check out FinalGear.com (you can even download the call in its entirety).
